  She has been conducting research in the field of tourism since 2012, first as a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Institut de Recherche et d’ Études Supérieures du Tourisme (IREST) at the University Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne (France) and then as a postdoc at the Center for Advanced Studies in Tourism (CAST) at the University of Bologna (Italy). Her interests include critical approaches to the geographies of place branding, heritage-, and place-making debates. Her work has been published, among other international outlets, in Annals of Tourism research, the Journal of Tourism and Cultural Change, Via@ Tourism Review.

   

• Massimo Giovanardi University of Leicester http://orcid.org/0000-0001-8710-6841

  He developed expertise in the study of “place branding”—an umbrella term for research in place marketing, destination image, and place-of-origin effect. More broadly, his research approach takes sociological perspectives to understand the processes whereby places are marketed, communicated, and consumed. His contributions have been published in, among others, Annals of Tourism Research, Marketing Theory, Journal of Marketing Management and European Planning Studies.
