Costs and benefits of touristic events: an application to Venice Carnival

Abstract

In questo articolo, si esaminano i costi e I benefici per le autorità locale dell’organizzazione del carnevale di Venezia. Dopo aver rivisto la storia recente di questo evento e il ruolo giocato dalle autorità locali nella sua rivitalizzazione, si analizzano i vari costi sostenuti per la sua organizzazione.  Successivamente si computano le spese addizionali dei turisti ed escursionisti e si analizza la distribuzione di questo ricavo fra vari beneficiari. Nel complesso il bilancio benefici-costi appare fortemente positivo.
